Web Based Email is a method of picking up and sending email via your Web Browser. This function is especially helpful if you want to pick up and answer email while travelling, on vacation, or for any other reason that you cannot use your normal email program or Internet dialup access account.
Web Based Email is included with all Peninsula Systems Internet Access accounts at NO CHARGE.
Another reason for using Web Based Email is that it may be simpler for many users than using one of the more high end email programs or even the email functions of their browsers.
Following are some of the features of the Web Based Email system that we have available here at Peninsula Systems:
- Access to all of your pensys.com email via your web browser (NS & IE version 4 and above)
- Send, receive, forward, and delete email via your browser.
- Online spell checker.
- Online address book for email addresses. This address book is stored on our server in your email access account record. Addresses can be added to your address book on the fly as you read your email online.
- Send and receive email attachments. Attached photos in either JPG or GIF format will appear within the email at the time you read the message.
- Users can access their email accounts from ANYWHERE! All you need is Internet access and you can retrieve your email while travelling, vacationing, or visiting a friend with Internet access.
- Email display is user configurable to the extent that you will be able to specify how many emails will display on the inbox listing page, the automatic signature(if any) to be added to each email sent, etc.
- Each user has an Inbox, Drafts, Sent, and Trash folder set up by default. Users can add email folders as they wish.
- Easy "paging" through the list of email in your mailbox as well as the ability to selectively delete unwanted email messages.
- Full "carbon copy" (cc:) and "blind carbon copy" (bcc:) functionality.
- Live "hot links" within email messages. Click on the link and be taken directly to the linked web site.
NOTE: WebMail is available as a convenience to our customers and is NOT to be uses as a primary email client. You should be using email clients such as Outlook Express, Netscape, Eudora, etc. to maintain your email. You should NOT use our mail server as a "filing cabinet" for storage of your email. It is expected that you use an email client to transfer your email from our server to your system. Peninsula Systems will not be responsible for email lost due to the customer leaving it on the mail server.
