Email Maintenance

Everyone who has an email account here at Peninsula Systems has access to a utility area in which the account holder can make a number of changes to the email account settings. This page will explain the purpose of those settings.

The address for the Email Maintenance functions is:

http://mail.pensys.com:32000

You need to log into the Email Maintenance area using your email POP3/user name and password.

We STRONGLY recommend that you PRINT this page and keep it handy prior to entering the Email Maintenance area!

The image above gives you an example of the Email Maintenance sign in screen. Enter your POP (Email) user name in the "User name:" field and your email password in the "Password:". You DO NOT need to make any changes in the "Layout:" or "Language:" fields.

Click the "Login" button.

Once you are logged in you will be presented with the above screen. Only a portion of the screen is actually shown here. Additional maintenance functions are available when in the actual Email Maintenance area.

If you make a change to your PASSWORD be sure that you make the appropriate change in your email program!

DO NOT make any changes to the ACCOUNT or OPTIONS fields or your email may cease working properly!

To maintain your actual MAILBOX, clear stuck emails, delete SPAM, etc. CLICK where you see the word "Mailbox" between the "[ ]" brackets at the top right of the screen.

NOTE: If you have MANY emails in your mailbox it can take several minutes to retrieve all of the header information for the screen shown below. BE PATIENT!

After clicking on the word "Mailbox" you will be presented with the above screen. Only a portion of the screen is actually shown here. The columns to the right of those shown above will display the Date and Size of the email.

To DELETE an email place a "check" in the box to the lest of that email and click the "Delete Message" button.

EXAMPLE: If your email software "sticks" on the 10th email simply "check" that email and click the "Delete Message" button. That email will be deleted so you can again try picking up your email. You may do this as many times as you need in order to clear a blocked mailbox.

You may also use this function to "pre screen" your email and delete those emails marked as "PROBABLE SPAM". Again, "check" to the left of all the emails you want to delete and click the "Delete Message" button. All of the "checked" emails will then be deleted.

If you'd like to clear your ENTIRE mailbox place a "check" in the "Select all messages" box thereby "checking" ALL of the messages in your mailbox and clicking on the "Delete Message" button.

ALL messages in your mailbox will then be DELETED.
